A Story of Peace and Conflict
Once upon a time, after a big war called World War I, leaders from different countries gathered together to make a special agreement. This agreement was called the Treaty of Versailles. It was signed in 1919 in a place called Versailles, in France.
The Treaty of Versailles had many important rules. One rule was that a country called Germany had to take the blame for starting the big war. Another rule was that Germany had to give away some of its land to other countries. This made many German people very unhappy.
The treaty also said that Germany couldn’t have a big army or powerful weapons. This was to make sure they wouldn’t start another war. But some people thought these rules were too strict and unfair to Germany.
After the treaty was signed, there was both happiness and sadness. Some people thought it was good because it would bring peace. But others thought it was bad because it made Germany angry and could cause more problems later.
Even though the Treaty of Versailles was supposed to bring peace, it didn’t stop another big war from happening many years later. But it taught the world important lessons about making fair agreements and being kind to each other.
