“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close

they were to success when they gave up.”

Thomas Edison

The Inventor Who Lit Up the World

Thomas Edison was a very famous inventor. He was born in 1847 in Ohio, USA. Edison was a curious child who loved to learn. He asked a lot of questions and was always trying to figure out how things worked.

When Edison was a young boy, he had trouble hearing. But that didn’t stop him from being curious and asking questions. His mother taught him at home, and he read lots of books. He loved science and experiments.

As he grew up, Edison became known for his inventions. One of his most famous inventions was the light bulb. Before Edison, people used candles or gas lamps to light up their homes. But these were not very safe or bright. Edison wanted to create something better.

After many experiments, Thomas Edison invented the electric light bulb. This bulb could shine brightly for a long time without needing to be replaced. It changed the way people lived. Now, they could work and play even after the sun went down.

But the light bulb was not Edison’s only invention. He also invented the phonograph, which could record and play back sound. This was the beginning of recorded music! He also invented the motion picture camera, which led to the invention of movies.

Thomas Edison was a very curious and determined person. He never gave up, even when his experiments failed. He always kept trying until he found a solution. That’s why he is remembered as one of the greatest inventors of all time.

“Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration.”

“There’s a better way to do – Find it.” Thomas Edison

Edison’s Direct Current, or DC

Thomas Edison was a famous inventor who created many important things. One of his inventions was the use of Direct Current, or DC, for electricity. Direct Current is a way to send electricity in a straight line, from one place to another.

Edison used DC to power lights and machines. He built the first power plant in New York City in 1882. This power plant used DC to give electricity to homes and businesses.

Even though DC was very useful, it could not travel long distances without losing
