Despite her successes, Jeanne faced many challenges. She was captured by the English in 1430 and put on trial for heresy and witchcraft. Even though she was just a young girl, Jeanne defended herself with intelligence and courage. Sadly, she was found guilty and was executed by burning at the stake in 1431.
