Chapter 1: A Sunny Morning
It is a sunny morning in Green Town. Anna wakes up and goes to the kitchen. She sees her cat, Whiskers, is not there. Whiskers always waits for Anna in the kitchen. Anna feels worried.
Chapter 2: Searching the House
Anna looks for Whiskers in the living room. She looks under the sofa and behind the curtains. Whiskers is not there. Anna calls for Whiskers, “Here, kitty kitty!” But Whiskers does not come.
Chapter 3: Asking the Neighbors
Anna goes to her neighbor, Mr. Brown. “Have you seen Whiskers?” she asks. Mr. Brown shakes his head. “No, I have not seen him today,” he says. Anna thanks Mr. Brown and goes to the next house.
Chapter 4: A Strange Noise
Anna hears a strange noise in the garden. She runs to the garden and sees a small hole near the fence. The noise comes from the hole. Anna kneels down and looks inside. She sees two shiny eyes.
Chapter 5: The Surprise
Anna digs around the hole with a small shovel. After a few minutes, she sees Whiskers! Whiskers is stuck in the hole. Anna carefully pulls Whiskers out. Whiskers meows and licks Anna’s hand.
Chapter 6: The Happy Ending
Anna is very happy. She takes Whiskers inside the house and gives him food. Whiskers eats and purrs. Anna hugs Whiskers and smiles. She is glad her cat is safe.
